Rough Sleepers

Rough sleeping is defined as “people sleeping, or bedded down, in the open air (such as on the streets, or in doorways, parks or bus shelters); people in buildings or other places not designed for habitation (such as barns, sheds, car parks, cars, derelict boats or stations)”

People sleeping rough on the streets of Dublin are in a very vulnerable situation and the longer they stay in this situation the more difficult it becomes to escape. They are at greater risk of becoming a victim of crime, developing severe health issues, developing drug or alcolhol dependancies and are consistently exposed to the elements and harsh environments.
